The Black Legacy Project
The Black Legacy Project is a community based participatory research project designed to decrease Black infant mortality and improve birth outcomes for Black Mothers in East Orange and the Southward of Newark in New Jersey.
The East Orange project is funded by the Health Care Foundation of New Jersey. The Southward of Newark project is funded by The South Ward Promise Neighborhood.
The study will collect stories and surveys from community members in both cities with a goal of redesigning programs and support systems with the community has a partner in change. Applications to participate in the study will open soon.
