Black Maternal Health Week
Black Maternal Health Week (BMHW) is held annually from April 11 to April 17 and aims to:
- Raise awareness: Highlight the disparities Black women and birthing people face in maternal healthcare, including higher rates of maternal mortality and morbidity.
- Amplify voice: Center the lived experiences, stories, and advocacy of Black mothers, families, and birth workers.
- Promote solutions: Advocate for policy changes, community-based care models, and investments that support equitable maternal health outcomes.
