Siara Maldonado, MSW, MPH

Director of Maternal Health

Siara Maldonado is a public health leader, social worker, and unwavering advocate for equity, healing, and systemic change. With over 8 years of experience spanning health systems, nonprofit organizations, and grassroots initiatives, she brings a strong foundation in program strategy, partnership development, and systems transformation.

Throughout her journey, Siara has led and supported initiatives aimed at dismantling institutional barriers, building pathways for culturally responsive care, and advancing collective healing – particularly for Black birthing people and historically excluded communities. Her approach is shaped by deep cultural grounding, a belief in the power of lived experience, and a commitment to honoring community wisdom as a catalyst for change.

She is driven by the urgent truth that far too many Black mamas and birthing individuals are dying from preventable causes – failures rooted in systemic racism, neglect, and medical harm. Siara believes everyone deserves an equitable, safe, and transformative birthing experience and is committed to building a future where dignity, high-quality care, and justice are not privileges, but guarantees.

She holds two Master’s degrees in Public Health and Social Work and is committed to building spaces that affirm, uplift, and transform the birthing experience.
