Juleen Johnson, MSN, RN, IBCLC
Juleen is a Maternal-Child Health Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Her love for maternal-child health began 18 years ago when she took the strange leap and transferred from the Psychiatric Emergency Room to the Labor & Delivery Unit. After years as an L&D RN, Educator, adjunct Professor, and L&D Nurse Manager, Juleen became passionate about breastfeeding and its role in public health. She believes human babies deserve human milk, and that human milk has the power to prevent disease, repair families, and improve the health of our entire society. She became an international board-certified lactation consultant and provides lactation support to families in the hospital and via her private practice (Suckle Success LLC).
Juleen is active in community and professional organizations. She is an active member of the New York Lactation Consultant Association and is the current president. She is an active AWHONN (the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses) member and served two terms on AWHONN’s National Public Policy Committee. She is also a member of the Bronx chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and is the former chair of the Stork’s Nest Committee, a program dedicated to maternal-child health equity via education and incentives.
Juleen has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Administration, a graduate certificate in health policy, and is completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree (May 2026) with a major in Health Policy.
